During Doug Pederson’s recent press conference, he stated both Jordan Hicks and Jason Peters will be out for the remainder of the season. Linebacker Jordan Hicks has suffered a ruptured Achilles and left tackle Jason Peters tore his ACL and MCL.
Both players were selected for the pro bowl last year, showing that they are an essential part of this Eagles team. The Eagles will replace Jason Peters with Halapoulivaati Vaitai and Jordan Hicks with Najee Goode. Since the Eagles are 6-1 and one of the best teams in Football, it is important that they can find high caliber replacements to fill the void of two key players. Due to a promising start, I believe that the Eagles should think about trading a draft pick for a replacement. Vaitai has struggled mightily in the starting lineup; therefore, finding a replacement for Peters will be important. In terms of the linebacker spot, Nigel Bradham and Mychal Kendricks have emerged as stars, so they will be able to carry the linebacker unit without much droppage in performance.
